Welcome to the Public Service Department: Homepage and News!
MAY EIGHT TWO THOUSAND EIGHT::::
We've got a lot of new PSA's on the air!!! check them out on our PSA page; they include Jim Galucci and the Compulsions, Vegetarin Cooking session, Kids Day in Little Tokyo, a film screening of Thirst, a festival entirely devoted to Guacamole (yes!!), a museum about baseball’s changes in the 60's and 70's, and a performance by "I see Hawks in L.A." Also, be listening to KSPC 88.7fm for a new "Green Series" about maintaining an low-energy household. It's the last one that we'll make in a while! After the summer we'll get more on the air, no need to worry!
May 1st 2008!!!
I've been keeping up with the "Find a PSA" page so if you're looking for PSA information check that page out. We have all of the current and recently-archived "blue" PSA's, which in KSPC jargon means "those PSA's that advertise date-specific events." The non-date specific events will take a little longer to archive, since I'll have to type all them up again! serenity now...
Much more interesting than that however is the fact that we've taken pictures and so this site will soon have more than pure text! make use of that cable modem! party like it's 1999!

One of these days I'll get around to actually updating the useful information this site. I've just discovered Dreamweaver and so for now I'm putting some finishing touches on the layout. I sort of wanted the look to be similar to our PSA bins in the DJ booth, minus the hand-drawn comments/numbers/doodles, but I don't think I'm just there yet. Looks like I'll be updating the site every Thursday so check back on Thursdays for updates (duh).

Just added some stuff to the "Find a PSA" page. Should be complete soon! This page is very much under construction so please have patience. By the end of the month of April everything should be available and from then on I'll be updating the site weekly.

Is this thing on? Hello out there! The Public Service Department
has breached a new communication medium! I created this website to serve the needs
of a new "green series" that our volunteers are planning. We are going to record some
environmentally conscious announcements and we wanted to have an opportunity to share
all the information that won't fit into a 40 second announcement.
Now that I've gotten to working on the website, I'm realizing the many good services
a web site for the Public Service Department can provide... Heard an announcement on-the-
air and missed some vital information? Search for that number here! Want to find out how
to get your non-profit organization or cultural event publicized on KSPC? You'll find it here.
If my volunteers have taught me anything it's that there are plenty of ideas out there
that I'd never come up with on my own - so feel free to contact me with suggestions about (
or problems with) the site.
Thanks,
Chris
